In an inspiring fusion of education and culinary arts, Mrs. Caldwell’s Calculus 2 class recently turned the ordinary into the extraordinary by modeling solids of revolution using pears and bagels.

Students gathered around as pears were transformed into 3D shapes through the magic of calculus. Each slice revealed a new layer of understanding while bagels took on a starring role in illustrating complex rotational solids. Not only did this hands-on approach make abstract concepts more digestible, but it also turned a typical math lesson into a culinary adventure.

With each bite and calculation, students were not just learning; they were savoring the sweet success of mastering difficult concepts. Mrs. Caldwell’s class proved that when it comes to calculus, a little creativity (and a few bagels) can make a big difference!
